Wait I love this so much. I'm rethinking my entire closet as I type. The Olsen twins and Obama in one scroll is enough to send me into a full blown identity crisis. Brb, new persona loading...
This was such a great read. More often than not, my favourite part of a show is seeing what the designers are wearing when they come out. It's much more real, and like you said, functional. I can't tell you how many of Sarah-Linh Tran's outfits I have saved on Pinterest!
I am really fascinated by Adrian Apiolazza, Moschino’s new Creative Director. He has the most insane fashion archive, a true collector. Very inspiring to see how he is so deeply invested in fashion in this way, and genuinely appreciates it as a form of art and social history.
Right! He escapes the uniform per se but is consistent in volumes and his signature pieces - buttoned up shirts, Ts or tank tops, suspenders and oversized pants
He does! I think Miuccia Prada and Sarah-Linh Tran are great examples that women can also have a uniform and look great. I'm also curious to see if Louise Trotter and Chemena Kamali end up adopting a uniform as they get busier and expectations are higher.
New reader here and this was put together impeccably! The way you were able to distill these "uniforms" was really interesting and helpful when thinking about having a uniform without specifically wearing the same thing over and over.
So interesting, very well done! Has Amy Smilovic crossed your radar? Founder of Tibi - she manages to wear her own brand and operate within a uniform-ish band that feels very personal. She really breaks it down on her substack!
This is so good I need to revisit like a book so I can deep-dive into each separate person thoroughly and do a rabbit-hole pinterest search after each.
loved it
Love that you love, ty!

So right! Sarah-Linh Tran is a true inspiration of mine too. Glad you liked it, Angharad!
Sarah-Linh is iconic and, actually, I can see you in a lot of those same outfits. She is everything I want in a personal style.
This is so good!!!
Thank you!!!

Love this! Jonathan Anderson always looks so good. Why does it seem easier for men to have a uniform of sorts tho!?

Sarah-Linh Tran hands down the most underrated chicness to a tee. Couldn't take my eyes off of her...sigh..

Love Amy's dedication to Tibi. She embodies her brand really well.
Yes, love her!!!
I always loved Carolina Hererra’s uniform of a tailored white shirt and skirt.
I absolutely loved this newsletter ♥️
I always wondered why designers don't wear what they design and this is so perfectly put together! Love all the pictures, thank you!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!!
