The Nature Edit: Into the Wild, In Style
Inspiration, discoveries and current obsessions for the great outdoors.
I see so many posts about city outfits and urban looks, but what about dressing for nature? Coming from a hometown by the Mediterranean Sea, with both beach and mountains, summer to me means spending full days by the water: lying in the sand, playing cards with friends under a sun umbrella, or reading a book with the sound of waves in the background. Just like fall calls for excursions into the mountains and lakes.
This year, Román and I have decided to explore more the U.S., especially its incredible national parks. We’re doing an RV trip to Grand Teton, Yellowstone and Glacier, and I’ve officially entered countdown mode, getting more and more excited each day, as I think about what to pack for our much-awaited disconnection trip.
So I asked fashion critic Rachel Tashjian: “What do you pack for an RV nature trip—but make it fashion?”. On her cool invite-only newsletter Opulent Tips, she recommended me: “Go with the real stuff, then accessorize with inessentials.” And that’s what I’m doing here.
As you can see, I’m continuing my mission to bring you all into the summer mindset. Are you in for the trip? In this new installment of The Art of Discovery, you’ll find inspiration, recent discoveries, and personal obsessions—all in the spirit of dressing for nature. Nature, but make it chic. Here’s what I’m envisioning... And don’t forget your sunscreen!
Where’s everyone headed this summer?
Disclaimer: I’m not an outdoors pro, just someone who loves fashion, nature, and the in-between. For the technical stuff, please refer to your local sports store.
