Prints on Prints on Prints: In Interiors & Fashion (Part 1)
Minimalism is great, less is always more. But what happened to having fun and playing around with patterns?
In the uncertain (and sometimes frustrating) times we live in, I tend to turn first to introspection, and then to external expression. At a time when different ideologies, religions, cultures, languages, origin stories, and ways of thinking are being silenced, removed from discourse, or even expelled, why not flip the script and boldly stand for what you believe in?
Of course, real action is necessary. But as always, I also turn to fashion, interior design, art, and cinema to bring in optimism—and to live by it.
In this new installment of The Art of Discovery, I dive deep into the magic of mixing and playing with patterns in all these areas of life and aesthetics. I share photographs, paintings, fashion collections, design choices, and film stills that I hope inspire you to wear your football team’s colors or your favorite ethnic prints, to combine patterns freely just because, and to put what you stand for out into the world.
At the end of the day, we’re all sharing space on this planet, learning something new each day, and (hopefully) finding love and fun along the way.
P.S. Part two of Prints on Prints on Prints lands next week, this time with a focus on animal prints, stripes, and geometrics. Subscribe now to get it straight to your inbox!
