Today, my co-worker Victor (who is also my sporadic editor) asked me: “What should I buy myself for the holidays?” Only oneself knows the answer. But it's true that, by looking at other people's wish lists, you can get inspired by ideas about what brings you joy. Of course, it doesn't mean that you'll like the same pair of loafers, tabletop or books, but it may remind you of an author you took a screenshot of, a scent that captivated you, or an awesome blazer you tried on earlier this year. Maybe it was meant to be, and now it really can be.
That said, especially at this time of year, I do subscribe to the disclaimer of being mindful not to indulge in over-consumption. Certainly it makes no sense to say “don't buy anything you don't need”, because I'm sure most of us don't really need any of the items on our wish lists, but rather desire things or experiences that we deeply enjoy.
