Back to the Office: Let’s Talk Basics
Everyday Essentials, Always With A Twist
With September just around the corner, I'm getting full swing into the office mood. I'm still not ready to put away the crochet skirts, boxer shorts, open back tops and bikinis, but they've been officially relegated to the last weekends of summer.
It's time for blazers, shirting (for me, these are all year round staples), neutral colors (I’m loving dark brown, olive green and touches of lavender for this season), knit sweaters, turtlenecks, tights... and lots of back-to-work basics. That said, I'm leaving the scarves, coats, gloves and other winter accessories for when the temperatures really drop; here in New York, it still feels like summer.
Plus, with less than two weeks to go before Fashion Month kicks off, I needed a dose of inspiration from “PR black” looks. So I’ve started this selection of office outfits and wardrobe staples with some gorgeous total black looks, although I end up with subtle doses of color (and not so subtle, long live red!)
